2020, no question, has been a challenge and full of difficult changes. Personally It reminds me of the year 1995 when I faced enormous painful life struggles. I dealt with devastating loss, a chaotic and selfish lifestyle, depression, and a very weak relationship with Jesus. I tell you this because the very next year was a year of enormous blessings. How? Because after I felt that all hope was gone I turned to my faith

.

** “For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world— our faith.”‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:4‬ ‭** . and realized that even as I felt my life crumbling all around me, I had a choice to either go down in a heap of bitter discouragement, fear and death, alone or rise up as a man of God, a child of the Most High and overcome these thoughts and lies of the enemy with the Lord God by my side. . ** “for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:26‬ ** . I realize the dramatics in this post are a bit much but it fuels my desire to be all in for Jesus daily. 2020 reminds me of 1995 and the biggest difference and takeaway for me this time is that even after my family and I have encountered loss and change, we have rebounded! And not because we are more capable or wiser, it’s because we choose to let the Lord lead us and guide us to persevere. We are not our own! . ** “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:19-20‬ ‭** . We are His children meant to shine for His glory no matter the storm we’ve faced and the storms to come. . ** “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ *^ . Be encouraged this upcoming year. Fight the good fight of faith!

.

** “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:7‬ **

Often I find myself pushing hard on each run to the maximum heart rate. If you own a HRM, you can probably relate. What I’ve learned over the years is not to push to a maximum heart rate on every run. It’s important to have training runs where you are taking it easy and staying below a certain heart rate throughout the entire exercise / run. Let us know here if you are practicing this method and how it’s helped you stay consistent in your running journey. In the meantime, I will look for articles to share on this subject.
