EXERCISE: RUNNING
LIFE VERSE: HEBREWS 12:1-2
..let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith
WHY DO I STAY ACTIVE FOR CHRIST:
I started running at the age of 39 and it changed my life. The health benefits were amazing. Naturally when I spent time exercising, it was a great time to think and pray. The dynamic of both exercise and prayer was a powerful combination. Active for Christ was created to encourage and unite people together from around the country and around the world.

WHY DO I STAY ACTIVE FOR CHRIST:
I enjoy walking because of the health benefits that it gives physically, emotionally and mentally. Although it can be challenging to remain consistent with physical exercise, It is imperative to pray daily. My goal is to incorporate diligent exercise activity and prayer.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
WHY DO I STAY ACTIVE FOR CHRIST:
I started running in 2007 to fight depression. Not only did God pull me out of it but also made me soar! I have been enjoying running and outdoor activities ever since. It is a platform where i meet people, make friends and eventually share my personal life stories and the Gospel with them. God is good! He wants us to be healthy and healed in body, mind and spirit.

WHY DO I STAY ACTIVE FOR CHRIST:
I stay active because the Lord has blessed me with health and strength. My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit that dwells within me and I want to take care of it as best that I can in order to fulfill the purpose that Christ has given me as a believer. I’ve been running since I was a little girl. It’s a stress reliever as well as a time to focus , pray and meditate on God’s word.
Running affords me to meet people from all over the world and be an encouragement to them. Join us as we get physically and spiritually fit together!

LIFE VERSE: Joshua 1:9
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go"
WHY DO I STAY ACTIVE FOR CHRIST:
I began running in January 2013 to lose weight after weight workouts. Little did I know that being talked into a local 5K a few months later would change my life forever. After that race, I began to challenge myself and eventually decided to run a Full Marathon. On April 26, 2014 that goal was realized. Since then, I’ve been blessed to finish 15 Full Marathons, including the Boston Marathon and 50 Half Marathons. And this is only the start of things.
I stay Active for Christ because He is my Savior and Redeemer and I love honoring Him with my runs and have been blessed to lead the opening prayer and several events.
My newest reason is my son, Alton. I continue this journey because I want him to see that through faith, hard work and dedication, any goal can be accomplished and any dream can become a reality. The journey can be grueling, but the journey also helps to mold us into what we aspire to be!!!!!

LIFE VERSE: Ephesians 2:8
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God,”
WHY DO I STAY ACTIVE FOR CHRIST:
I began running in 2013 because a friend asked me to do a 5k Color Run with her. Fast forward to 2015 and that same friend asked me to run a half marathon in honor of her family adopting a child. During my first half-marathon training cycle, I experienced what it meant to run with Jesus. My runs started to become a time I had with the Lord, and I relied on Him in a way like never before. I would get lost in my runs with Him.
This is why I continued running and decided to take on the marathon distance, completing my first marathon in 2019, a few years after having my daughter.
In May of 2019, I became an RRCA Certified Run Coach so I could help others see the beauty of placing Jesus at the center of their runs and training, preventing running from becoming an idol, which it can easily become. That’s how Endurance4You was born. My goal isn’t to have the biggest team or be the fastest runner, but it is to take care of the one body God gave me as the gift and the temple it is while sharing Christ through running.

LIFE VERSE: JEREMIAH 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
WHY DO I STAY ACTIVE FOR CHRIST:
I started running as a way to stay in shape after my oldest was born. As my kids got older I incorporated them into my runs with the stroller and eventually they started running and riding bikes while I ran.
A few years ago I started praying while I ran. I run in my neighborhood a lot and use the time to pray for my neighbors.
A few years ago I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Running has helped me keep my blood sugar level and stay healthy. Trail running is my favorite type of running because I love being on trails spending time talking to God. I have run half’s, 50ks and a 50 mile trail run and more recently completed two 100 milers!
LIFE VERSE: Hebrews 12:1-2
"Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
WHY DO I STAY ACTIVE FOR CHRIST:
I started running in 2012 at the age of 39 as an attempt to deal with my grief and to save my marriage. My mother had passed away the year before after a battle with breast cancer. I was dealing with grief and depression I didn't know how to carry and it was hurting my family. My mom was an amazing woman full of God's love. She was my singing partner and my rock in so many ways. What started as a one-time event to complete a 5K morphed into something greater I didn't expect. I found s purpose again. I found peace and joy. God had used something as simple as running to open my world to a new community, and a place to put my grief. Along the way the scriptures about running the race came alive in a way I'd never experienced. My runs became time alone with God, just me, my thoughts, and Him. I see Him in the world around me every day I run. That experience is what led me to start RunRev Coaching in January 2023. I realized there were not many programs out there that combined Faith, Mental Health, and Running. I am building the program that I needed. Faith & Community are two of the five core principles I build upon. Active 4 Christ holds the principles as well. The community of runners and believers have changed my life so much.
LIFE VERSE: PHILIPPIANS 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me
WHY DO I STAY ACTIVE FOR CHRIST:
After getting active in 2008/2009 and getting fit and healthy, I started running. Unfortunately, I injured my back and had a herniated disc. Was told that I wouldn't be able to run. So, I took on walking. But, it wasn't enough.
Then, I found Jeff Galloway and his run/walk/run method. Because of it, I have been able to be a runner. I feel blessed that He has allowed me to run 6 marathons and over 45 half marathons. I know I couldn't have done it without God.
My faith has helped me overcome so much and made me a stronger person.

LIFE VERSE: Colossians 3:23
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men
LIFE VERSE: Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
WHY DO I STAY ACTIVE FOR CHRIST:
I stay active by taking care of my body that God has given me. And a true gift to be able to run as many miles I do. I have completed 2 marathons and many half marathons also a ton of 5k and 10ks. I run mostly by myself while training and just enjoy running. This past year especially I have grown so much in my faith by spending more time with Him and studying His word. I like to run in silence mostly and just really listen and talk to the a Lord on my runs! I’m thankful I have found Active for Christ that have the same beliefs as I do while staying active.
WHY DO I STAY ACTIVE FOR CHRIST:
I started running later in life when I needed a way to get healthier, lose weight, and set a better example for my daughter. I started losing weight and began to experience the mental health benefits that came with running and strength training. Somewhere along the way fitness became less about staying healthy and more about vanity or looking a certain way. In the last year God has really been working in me to make HIM the center of my fitness journey, and making movement for Him the priority, rather than focusing on the way I look. I love starting my mornings with movement and my worship playlist. It's the best way to ensure I have a great day no matter what challenges I may face!
WHY DO I STAY ACTIVE FOR CHRIST:
I’ve always loved being outside, enjoying God’s creation. I grew up on a farm, riding horses at a young age. In the early ‘90’s I was on the equestrian team at Missouri State University. While in college, I started working out at the gym to stay fit, and occasionally running a couple laps on the track, but never more than a mile. Years later a family friend started running local 5k’s and I wanted to try one. So in March of 2010 at 37 years old I kicked off my mid life running career by running my first 5k. I was hooked! I’ve ran a dozen full marathons, three 50k’s, and I’ve lost count of the shorter distances. My husband of 30 years runs occasionally too. He’s completed three half marathons with me.
In 2023 I had a horse related incident that left me with a full ACL tear in my right knee. I had surgery to repair it and after four months of physical therapy I was able to gradually return to running. In the past year I’ve set two marathon PR’s and a 50k PR. I am so thankful to still be running. Every day is a gift from God.

LIFE VERSES: 1 Timothy 4:8
For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
2 Corinthians 5:20-21
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
WHY DO I STAY ACTIVE FOR CHRIST:
I stay active for Christ because there is value to bodily training but godliness has value now and in the life to come (1 Tim. 4:8). I want to take care of the body God has given me and be a good steward of it while at the same time doing my best to represent Him well and do my part to point others to Him.
